At SRS our Specialist and experieanced staff cater for everyone, from the nervous to the brave, young and old, novice or experienced, all special needs and carriage rides.
We teach competeion dressage and jumping.
People with special needs are very welcome and we have very qualified staff to make the experience fun and educational.
We currently work with adults and children that have ASD, ADD, ADHS, ODD, PTSD, Challenging Behaviour, Cerebal Palsy, Mental Health, anxiety, depression, low esteem and lack of confidence and those returning to riding alongside children and adults that want to learn to ride and those just wanting to spend time around horses.
Whether you want to keep your horse or pony with us or learn to ride, or both, we can help you to improve your riding, you can join our Kids Club, or learn to work a horse on the ground, we can teach it all. We create lessons around your needs.

Smallfield Riding School is one of the very few Riding Schools that work with people with Special Needs. We can tailor a session around your needs, whether it's riding lessons, a quiet hack, grooming a pony, having a carriage ride or just hanging out. People with special needs and mental health issues benefit enormously from interaction with horses. Horse riding helps develope communication, co-ordination and balance and aids muscle tone. Contact with horses has a calming effect and an ability to engage with another living creature. We have qualified staff and helpers on site Prices start from £15 - Weight limit is 16 stone

SRS IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE ARE NOW TAKING ON STUDENTS FOR WORK EXPERIENCE. WE HAVE RECENTLY SUCESSFULLY WORKED WITH PLUMPTON COLLEGE, CHARTWOOD SCHOOL AND LITTLEHAMPTON ACADEMY. This is a training programme that is aimed at building confidence working with and around horses through education and training. It will lead to achieving Qualified Helper Certificate. You will have your own folder and work sheets. During this course you will learn all aspects of caring for a horse on a daily basis, which includes routine and why it’s important, feeding, stable cleanliness, how to catch, lead and tack up a horse. You will also learn the importance of Team Work, Communication Skills, Health & Safety, personal awareness and awareness of your surroundings - £35 per day
PONY SCHOOL - running throughout the holidays!!!
Introducing a Fun School for Kids of all ages (Over 6years).
A 4 day week of lessons all about the wonderful world of horses and horse care and enjoy riding lessons and a variety of activities. The lessons will cover health and safety, and both theory and riding. On the last day the young people can demonstrate what they have learnt.
Hours are 10am - 3pm. £45 per day includes a lesson
